MY YOGA STORY
Yoga 'found' me in 1998 at a time when I was exploring the body while completing a Bachelor of Kinesiology degree. I was guided by many wonderful teachers from many yoga traditions. My practice became focused on the Iyengar Yoga method in 2006. I had just completed a graduate degree and needed to go deeper into my practice to heal from the toll that this rewarding but intense experience had on me.
Teddy Hyndman, my Senior Iyengar Yoga Teacher, guided me to use my body to go beyond my body. She introduced me to the Edmonton Iyengar Yoga community and the Yoga Association of Alberta. With their support, I successfully became a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher. This process gave me tools to manage anxiety, fatigue, and sports related injuries. All these years later, I continue to learn: I am learning to be more present in my life, to make better choices, and to explore my spiritual side. Iyengar Yoga has changed my life.
I am passionate about yoga as a practitioner and teacher. I believe that yoga truly is for every “BODY.” My goal is to inspire students to find their own "inner teacher" as they explore and experience the benefits of yoga on and off the yoga mat.
